Below, you will find out more about the long and tedious process of restoration. The job is facilitated by A.I. tools but there is a long process of trial and error for each photo:

You first need to remove all yellow or red tints from photos and fix fading, scratches and cracks. Then the photo has to be sharpened and some noise has to be removed. Then the colorization process is done by blending colorized pictures from multiple AI Engines and then blended with manual corrections.
The post on the left has been removed by blending architectural details from other modern photos. A.I. tools are excellent to colorize skies, grass, buildings etc… but items like cars and signs have often to be colorized manually.
Some A.I. engines are specialized in face recognition and re-creation. The results are stunning!
